I wanted to make some kind of promotional stickers for my band but at the same time learn how to improve my Affinity Designer skills. I have already made a fake Orange Amps logo that instead said my band's name so this was the logical progression from that. Trying to match some of the logos was trickier for some than others. How many of them did you recognize?
This is the next amp I want to buy. I already have a crunchy sounding Orange amp and I want something super clean to compliment it. It sounds great for songs drenched with reverb or delay or jangly guitar that cuts through the mix without sounding like nails on a chalkboard. Listen to it on U2 - The Streets Have No Name and The La's - There She Goes.
This was the second amp I drew after the Orange. I use an amp sim version of this in my DAW and it sounds great. I'd love to buy a real one but I'll have to wait until I have 500,000 yen to spare. This is a classic workhaorse of an amp that has been used by everyone from the Stones to Nirvana. Hear it on The Pixies - Gigantic and Nirvana - Lithium
There are a ton of variations of this amp and I've never heard of anyone using them as bass amps except for maybe the 15w practice amps. Fun fact - my very hilarious drummer friend coloured the B on mine with a black marker. My local venue give me little more has one a combo '59 style Bassman it it sounds amazing. You can hear it on The WHo - My Generation and Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Go to any rehearsal space in Japan and you'll find one of these almost guaranteed. But a lot of spaces closed during covid so I might have to get one for the new studio. Super clean tone that's great for your next indie hit. Weird that all the instrument that were created for jazz players seem to be used more by alternative artists. You'll hear it on The Cure - Close to Me and I'm told MBV - Sometimes (any excuse to share MBV really tho).
Aaron Rash made a whole video about this amp.
